Through conversations, theatre and music, we will discuss the future and 'public' space for art and culture in Lombok and Westplein. For you, what is distinctive about the Lombok neighbourhood, what makes Lombok so special the way it is? Gemene Grond will also give an introduction this afternoon to what 'commons' is and how we plan to use it.

Minem Sezgin shares strategies and ideas from her book No Seat at the Table. No Seat at the Table is a fictional graphic novel about the local and global effects of gentrification on citizens in Turkish and Dutch cities. The book highlights four neighbourhoods where this phenomenon occurs: Piyalepaşa in Istanbul, Ismetpasa in Ankara, De Kolenkitbuurt in Amsterdam, and Lombok in Utrecht.
