Marij has a strong inner drive and loves exploring different identities and roles. She has always had a broad interest in art and creativity, leading her to a career in environmental design and later to founding Stichting Maanzaad, a platform for collaboration among visual artists, actors, writers, composers, and musicians.

Since 1990, she has regularly initiated mixed-media productions at unique locations and theaters across the Netherlands. Alongside these presentations, she has also initiated various community art projects in Utrecht, Culemborg, De Bilt, Jakarta, and Arnhem. In both art directions, she strives to maximize the expressive power of the themes she addresses. Through a critical and investigative approach, she creates connections and ensures communication between the different creators, participants in the productions, and the audience.
