Julia Krantz

Julia Krantz grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and in 2019, she moved for her BA in Arts, Media and Society at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Following her BA, she studied an MA in Museum Studies at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, Julia worked and interned at various cultural organisations including FOTODOK and Framer Framed. Her MA thesis explored horizontality in the way art institutions organise themselves and she questions how this affects collaborations and participation. Influenced by South Africa and the Netherlands' political climate, Julia brings a critical lens to her work where she constantly looks for opportunities to subvert norms and create space for epistemic disobedience. Currently, Julia works as a programme assistant at the Centre for International Education Exchange (CIEE) where she organises and hosts educational programmes and workshops surrounding the themes of art, gender, sexuality and sustainability.
