Lombok Times is an initiative by local residents who contribute to the development of Lombokplein. Lombok Times is the newspaper about Westplein now and 15 years into the future. The goal is to collaboratively design a more just public space together with the neighborhood and the municipality. By creating this newspaper, we amplify the voices of local residents, especially those who are not (often) seen or heard. From the various animals living in Lombok to the elderly at Rosa community center and the children participating in activities at Wishing Well West. Local residents know the neighborhood inside out and are involved in various cultural and social initiatives that Lombok is rich in. Gemene Grond, in collaboration with these residents (Commonraad), organizes activities to publish the newspaper of the future. What will (or won't) have happened in the square by 2039?
