Carlijn Diesfeldt
Working as an independent curator and consultant, I specialise in setting up and curating long-term art programmes in relation to spatial and social transition processes. For instance, I was involved in BEYOND Leidsche Rijn (2000-2009), a 10-year programme on art and urbanisation in the public space of a new urban district in Utrecht. I set up Land Art Contemporary in Drenthe (since 2011) and I was initiator and curator of the Department of Search (2014-2018) a programme where artists and scientists research the (im)possibilities of a Zero Footprint Campus (2017). Since 2012, I have worked as a curator for the Kunst in het Stationsgebied foundation and co-curated the events Call of the Mall in Hoog Catharijne (2013) and Public Works around Utrecht Central Station (2016). Together with fellow curator Suzanne Sanders, I laid the foundation for the commons art programme Common Ground (2021 - ). I am also an advisor for the Mondriaan Fund (since 2020) and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (since 2018) and am a member of art committees in Utrecht, Beverwijk and Zaanstad.
